Canada Student Grant for Full-Time Students, plus the grant for each dependant (through OSAP in Ontario)

You likely qualify if: Full-time students with financial need; In a qualified program at a designated school; Family income under the cut-off; Dependants grant: a dependant under 12, or with a disability.
2026-27 OSAP applications are open; submit no later than 60 days before the end of your study period. Income limits shown took effect August 1, 2026. Also from August 1, 2026, Ontario gives more of its own provincial OSAP funding as loans instead of grants.
A federal grant you never pay back of up to $4,200 a year ($525 per month of study) for the 2026 to 2027 school year, for full-time students with financial need; in Ontario you get it by applying for OSAP. If you have a dependant under 12 at the start of your study period, or older with a permanent disability, the same application also gives a grant you do not pay back of up to $280 per month of study, or up to $2,240 a year, for each dependant.

Have ready your Social Insurance Number (SIN), your tax information, your parents' or spouse's tax information, and your school and program details. Fill in the 2026-27 OSAP application; your Canada Student Grant is worked out from this same application. Submit no later than 60 days before your study period ends; the grant part does not have to be paid back.
