Current and former Canadian Armed Forces members who faced racial discrimination or racial harassment in their service can claim from a settlement the Federal Court approved.
From $5,000 to $35,000 per person: a $5,000 base payment, plus $10,000, $20,000 or $30,000 more if you choose the optional assessment, subject to pro rata. You do not need records or documents to prove what you say.

Some Silk and Great Value plant-based drinks were recalled on July 8, 2024 for possible Listeria, and a court approved a settlement for people who bought or drank them.
Compensation depends on how sick you were, using the official compensation grid. A refund for the drink itself goes through Danone's refund program, open until the same deadline. It depends on the level of illness; the higher levels need medical records.

Ontario jail staffing lockdowns settlement
People held in Ontario jails were often locked in their cells because of staff shortages, and a court approved a settlement for inmates and immigration detainees.
Between $2,000 and $68,000, depending on how many staffing lockdowns you had and the harm, subject to a pro rata reduction if necessary. No documents are needed for the basic award; serious harm claims need documents.

Government of Canada online accounts breach settlement (Sweet v. Canada)
In 2020, criminals used stolen passwords to get into CRA My Account, My Service Canada and GCKey accounts, and the Federal Court approved a settlement with the Government of Canada.
$20 an hour for your time: up to $80 if your account was accessed, up to $200 if it was used for fraud, and up to $5,000 for out-of-pocket costs with documents. Payment amounts may be reduced depending on the number of approved claims. Out-of-pocket costs need documents.

Government of Canada cheques never expire, and an old CRA cheque can be cashed at any financial institution in Canada for no charge.

Money left untouched for 10 years in an account at a bank or trust company goes to the Bank of Canada's Unclaimed Properties Office. Search its free online database by name and submit a claim; there is no fee to claim.

Canada Child Benefit (CCB)
A tax-free monthly payment from the Canada Revenue Agency to help families with the cost of raising children under 18: up to $8,157 a year for each child under 6 and up to $6,883 a year for each child 6 to 17 (July 2026 to June 2027, highest when family net income is under $38,237), with up to $3,480 more a year for each child who qualifies for the disability tax credit.

A tax-free payment every three months from the Canada Revenue Agency to help people with low and modest incomes pay for everyday essentials; it is the GST/HST credit renamed in July 2026. From July 2026 to June 2027 you could get up to $679 a year if you are single or $890 with a spouse or partner, plus $234 for each child under 19.

Canadian bread price-fixing settlement (Loblaw and George Weston)
Loblaw, George Weston and Weston Bakeries settled claims that they took part in a scheme to fix packaged bread prices.
In Quebec: $42.50, or $17.50 if you received the $25 Loblaw card; cheque payments are $2.00 less. The payout outside Quebec is on the official site.
