- Their stepsCall 416-920-1633 in the GTA or 1-866-999-JFCY (5329) toll-free in Ontario, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, 9 am to 12 pm or 1 pm to 5 pm. In July and August the line closes at 12 pm on Fridays. An intake worker writes down your situation and connects you with a lawyer, who gives up to 30 minutes of free legal advice over the phone. You must call: JFCY does not give legal advice by email, and there are generally no walk-in services at its office.
