Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP)

The Government of Canada's largest student job pool. You fill out one online application, and managers in more than 200 federal departments and agencies use it all year to hire students for full-time and part-time jobs, including summer jobs. Jobs are in many fields, such as science, trades, office work, information technology and finance. Pay follows the federal student rates of pay.

Some special summer 2027 student programs close sooner: Great Lakes Area Summer Fisheries Student Program on October 28, 2026, Canadian Coast Guard Inshore Rescue Boat student program on November 2, 2026, and Fishery Officer Student Program on November 15, 2026.

• For whomFull-time high school, college or university students (including students with disabilities who count as full-time at their school, and adults in secondary-level education programs) who will return to full-time studies in the next term and meet the minimum working age where the job is. Students in their final year can apply only if they worked before in FSWEP, the Co-op/Internship Program or the Research Affiliate Program. Preference goes to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

A manager may then contact you for a test or an interview. Update your application often, and check the FSWEP page for special summer 2027 programs that have their own deadlines.
