If you cannot afford court fees in a family, civil or small claims case, you can ask for a fee waiver. If approved you get a certificate to show court staff, and you do not pay the fees it covers. It is free to apply.

Their stepsPick the form: FW-A-3 if you think you meet the money rules, FW-A 4 if you do not. Fill it in and gather proof of your household income. File it with the court. Show the certificate to court staff if they ask you to pay a fee.
