Community Health Centres in Toronto: health care for people without OHIP (including the Access Alliance Non-Insured Clinic)
Community Health Centres (CHCs) are community-governed clinics that give primary health care with a focus on health equity, and in Ontario they have a mandate to serve non-insured people who are making Ontario their home, but space is limited. In Toronto, Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services runs a free Non-Insured Clinic with a nurse practitioner, a nurse and a peer health support worker, plus non-insured midwifery at AccessPoint on Jane.
